Studio Notes: October
Hi there, I wanted to share a little of what’s been happening in my studio, my current colour obsessions and inspiration and anything else that is on my mind.
From the Studio
I’ve been working on a few “love” jobs lately. Painting for a friend’s renovation, and two paintings for my sister. A cool fluro one for my nephew and a moody, earthy tones one for my sister’s living room. I have also been working on my Maldives collection. I can’t wait to release it on another week or so. The colours are so soft and lovely. I’m still really drawn to making marks with oil sticks. They’re so buttery soft and a lot of fun to use. The only challenge is that once you use them, you can’t really change your mind. Oil sticks are rather hard to remove or paint over if you change your mind!

What’s catching my eye
I’m loving all my holiday images from the Maldives as well as the gorgeous Pinterest inspirations. I’m trying to find a way to incorporate the incredible coral and marine life while keeping the overall feel of the work soft.

In the works
Here are a few glimpses of my studio and my Maldives collection that’s starting to come to life.

My pick this month
I often go back and reflect on past works. I am constantly experimenting and it’s nice to go back and see what styles, techniques and colours I can incorporate into new work. I’m immersing myself in that relaxed holiday vibe and that “floating in water” serene feeling - so my favourite piece at the moment is “Exhale” from my ‘Tethered’ collection. The subtle layering and varieties of blue and aqua are just gorgeous. TAKE A CLOSER LOOK HERE
Anyway, thank you for following along! Until next month…
